The Republic of Moldova steps into the spotlight of documentary filmmaking with the release of “Flavours of Romania and the Republic of Moldova”, created by British director and producer Charlie Ottley, well-known for his successful series “Flavours of Romania.” The documentary will be available starting September 24, 2025, and offers an authentic journey through the country’s culture, traditions, and tourist attractions.
In its three episodes dedicated to Moldova, filmed from north to south, the production explores more than 40 locations – from picturesque villages and communities that keep traditions alive, to internationally renowned wineries and restaurants that promote local cuisine. Viewers will discover not only the cultural and gastronomic heritage, but also the stories of people who, through hard work and passion, shape the identity of this country.

“Moldova was a revelation for me. I discovered extraordinary people, authentic stories, and a cultural and gastronomic heritage that deserves to be known worldwide. It is a country with a unique spirit, which I want to bring to international attention through this series,” said British director Charlie Ottley.

The documentary captures Moldova’s contrasts: breathtaking landscapes, monasteries and historic mansions, protected natural areas, as well as the vibrant energy of Chișinău. All of these are presented in a cinematic style that combines the beauty of nature with the warm hospitality of the people and the region’s cultural richness.
Thus, “Flavours of Romania and the Republic of Moldova” becomes not only a documentary production, but also a visual calling card for Moldova – an invitation to the world to discover a country small in size, yet remarkable in its diversity and authenticity.
