Folk songs, doines and ballads are part of Moldovan life, routine and holidays. When we are happy we sing folk songs, when we are sad – we sing a doina, at Christmas – we sing carols, at St. Vasile – cheerings, at birth we sing songs of joy, at death – of mourning.
